April 22, 2013. After two and a half days of mini vacation, Kamal returned to work. Not in Kuala Lumpur, but in Koh Siray. There, he was scheduled to attend a conference. Meanwhile, Khalish and I were free to explore The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa.
As soon as the three of us exited the taxi, we were ushered to the lobby. Our first impression was similar. Hea. Ven. Ly. Yes, one word, three breaths. What impressed us more was the lovely personnel. Special treatment for children, too.
Our room was on the hill. Credit to the management for efficient buggy service. To go to the facilities at the base of the hill, Kamal, Khalish, and I preferred to walk though. The view, either from the room or the hill, was tranquil.
Relaxed, Khalish immediately felt at home. He claimed a corner as his. Lego galore.
Aside from Lego, the boy loved the complimentary amenity bag from Westin Kids Club. The parents loved it as well. Our favourite was the map.
With the car he built from Lego, Khalish pretended to go around the world. Kamal and I waited for his return at the balcony. Which took only five minutes. Reunited, we cherished the family time.
We were at the resort until April 25, 2013. In between the conference sessions, Kamal could be found at the Kids Club, the beach, and the Horizon Pool, the places Khalish and I frequented. We only left the resort to taste Thai cuisine and experience the night scene in Patong with the rest of Kamal's colleagues. Thank you, The Westin, for the hospitality. Thank you, Koh Siray, for the tranquility. More photos soon.
